Your coach and tennis organiser for your holiday is Steve Durie LTA ‘pro’ qualified and the younger brother of Jo Durie, ranked no5 in the world in 1984 and winner of the mixed doubles at Wimbledon in 1987.
Steve first came to Spain as a coach at the la Manga tennis club.
Having lived and coached in Spain for 10 years Steve has a mixture of residents and visitors to the Costa Blanca participating in the weekly tennis sessions.
There are playing sessions for every level of tennis player from beginner to highly qualified. Multiple tennis courts at Campoamor and in Guardamar together with the number of weekly participating players ensure a rich exchange of tennis from singles and doubles to mixed and handicapped plays.
For the last 4 years Steve has been coaching the no1 ranked Spanish boy u12-Nicola Kuhn. Steve has had junior players spend longer periods of time on the Costa Blanca, training individually with him and participating in group training at the los Balcones tennis club in Torrevieja.
Tournaments are played almost every weekend. This is more suitable for younger, talented children, spending time on the coast accompanied by their parents.
Steve has travelled with two u10 players to the biggest u10 tournament in Pula, Croatia- the smrikve bowl.
Steve's Ba Hons. degree in Psychology creates a satisfying comfort zone for parents when sponsoring junior players to success.
